Default Can someone identify this part?

Came back from a long road trip and hit a small animal. This part broke I was wondering if someone could help me identify it.

Default hello

Is it necessary to have it on? If it is I was searching splash gaurd/ belly pan on websites that sell volvo parts but I didn't find any. Is there another name or do I have to buy it from the dealer?

I would say it's needed, but I'm **** when it comes to my cars (just ask my wife). It keeps stuff like that small animal from impacting the motor along with water, snow, etc. I would call FCPgroton, I know IPD sells one for the 850....
