climate control trim

Default climate control trim
I just bought a 99 V70XC, and the previous owner had installed a "telephone holder" in it, which attaches (presumably by screws) BETWEEN the climate control panel and the woodgrain trim. Can you tell me how to either slide that control panel out, or remove the trim so I can remove these screws and get this darned "holder" out of the way? Thanks!

The climate module just slides out if it is the ECC.
