Default Electrical/Lighting Issue - 2004 XC70

This is my first post here and I hope some kindly folk(s) can help me out. My wife's '04 XC70 has developed some issues that have me stumped. Quite suddenly last week the right side marker lights (front & rear) died and the right side (HID) high beam stopped working. I have checked the rear bulb and it appears ok. The front lights are harder to get at and I didn't have much time. I checked all the fuses that the manual says are related and they all look good. My next step is to re-visit the bulbs & fuses with my multi-meter to go beyond the visual inspection, but I am puzzled that all these symptoms appeared together. I suspect that it is not bulb or fuse related, but I don't know where to look next. Relay(s) perhaps???

If anyone can shed some light on this I do appreciate it. I'd always rather fix it myself if I can. The local mechanics charge me $85/hour and my resources are limited.

On a related note, the left front headlight lens has a stone chip and I need to replace it. Does anyone have a good source for that item? I believe it is a clip-on replacement and I should be able to handle that.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
