FWD 2011 XC70 what part is this and does the fix look ok to you?
Put a deposit on a 2011 XC70. Been a Subaru driver my whole life but excited to be a member.
On the very back center there is a weird "fix". Does anyone know what part this is or if this looks like an OK patch? Is it maybe just a shield that was rusty? I was trying to find images of the undercarriage of the XC70 rear to compare. I live in a pretty rural area so not a ton of xc70s to compare with. Thank you very much! Just want to make sure this "patch" isnt too quick a fix. I am thinking its just a heat shield or something to protect the undercarriage

Looks normal, other than the rust - I'm glad I don't live in the rust belt
That's a picture of a heat shield protecting the spare tire well from the exhaust heat, plastic bumper bolted to black plastic bumper support, bolted to metal spare tire well
