Default idle surge

In October of 03, I had to have the throttle body replaced in my 99 Volvo XC. Since August of this year, I have had the same surging problems. Volvo dealer says I need to once again replace the throttle body for another 900.00.

Have any of you had problems with?
Should the Volvo dealer cover the costs of this repair, since it was done so recently before? Any suggestions how to get this problem fixed permanently or at a cheaper cost.

The cheapest place I found still wants 490 bucks for the part alone. Help!

Default RE: idle surge

The first thing I would bo is have it cleaned good and perform an injection service on it.Most of the time a dirty throttle body is the cause of idle surging. The throttle bodys are known to go bad.But i would have it cleaned first.
