Default New problem

Hi , have an 04 XC70 with 90,000kms on it , car was serviced by Volvo from day 1 and has had its fair share of ****ly problems, Vovo hadreplaced two radiators under warranty, the last at one at 85k, since then have done an oil change my self which was straight forward and after feeling the tranny have a couple of minor slip issues suddenly between 2-3 gear i decided it was probably to get a local mechanic to change the ATFwhich he did by drainig and replacing the oil in thesump only, not knowing that it required 55-50 oil, he had put dexron III in it and relised a day later and said to drop the oil again and run some more dexron to flush the system and clean things up a bit as the original oil was very dirty, on the 3rd change within a 3 day peroid he then put some of the Toyota transmax J 55-50 oil which apparently is the same as the original oil and as the castrol recommended stuff for the car, since the change the car when cold makes a whining noise which seems to start when the car revs past 2000rpm, as the car warms up the noise is still there but not as loud, it seems to only be on throttle aswell, does not occur in neutral, the gear changing is smooth which is odd as i would have thought that if the noise was tranny related then i would see problems with shifting etc. Has anyone else had this probem or can give me advice as to what the noise may be i would greatly appreciate any help as this is becomming a headache

Thanks

Ok, i would write to Volvo Australia, if you have a full Volvo service history. Your car would be just out of warranty, and not yet reaching 100,000km i would write.
given all your previous problems i think you have a great case.
Are you the original owner?
Search the forums for trannsmission problems.
I have seen many threads where radiator fluid get's into the tranny, with similar symptoms to yours.
Take a look around the site,
Tech is our main man around here. I don't think he would mind if you PM him.

good luck

Your pump is wiped or getting wiped out. That is the noise you hear. If its making noise you WILL be a no go very soon.
