For an 07 xc70:

How do you know if you have premium sound?

If not can you upgradeand what about what does it run?

I was told I hadpremium sound,but I have the HU-650, playing 11 speakers, and not the HU-850. I do have the aux button in the center console but no cable (haven't tried it out yet).

There should be 3 button up top on the radio. Will discribe as "3 Ch", "OFF", and "DOLBY SIGN and labled PL". also look on door panel at front doors. there should be 3 speakers on each front door. Tweeter, mid range and 6 1/2" woofer. HU-650 is 6 speakers.. HU-850 is 11 speakers. hopes this help

 

i have a volvo v70 of 2006 and it has a HU-850 radio but i have problem vith the cd it says error and it has cd's inside the radio functions but the cd not please help!!! thnx

I've was informed that Volvo has a techinical bulletin about the cd error with the Hu-850 but the only solution is to replace the head unit $900+ and that aftermarkets will screw up all the other electical in the car.
Has anyone had this problem and have another recommendation?

 

Are your CDs audio or MP3? I know my HU-803 does not play MP3 tracks and does not work with CD-RW disks (CD-Rs are OK).

 

Replacing the head is always going to cost you $900-1000, but it's not true that all aftermarket accessories will screw up the factory-wiring.

If the auto repair mechanic who's taking care of repair procedure knows what he's doing, then there shouldn't be any issues with installation of a new aftermarket option too.
