Default Rear Hatch fix

I have a 1997 Volvo Wagon. The rear hatch latch would not close properly (always loose). So I slammed the hatch closed and it finally locked. By doing this, it snapped the clips holding the interior plastic in place. I have bought and replaced the clips from the Volvo dealer. They worked for a moment, but when shutting the hatch they came loose again. Any suggestions on how to fix the hatch so that it closes tightly? Or on how to secure the rear interior plastic panel? I tried lubricating the latch, but this did not work. As a last resort, could I put in a few metal screws into the plastic to hold the panel in place since the replacement clips do not work. Also, the seat warmers have both stopped working. Any advice on this, possibly a fuse? Thank you, Walter

Default IPD kit?

Not sure if this is exactly your problem, but if the interior panel is coming loose and interfering with proper latching of the hatch, this IPD kit might help. I haven't used one (yet...) but it's supposed to be tougher than the factory clips. On the other hand, if those bits look like what you bought from the dealer already, I'm no help. YMMV. Good luck.

(No suggestions on the heated seats - mine both still work...so far.)

Default Rear Hatch

Thanks for the help. Just purchase the kit from ipd. Hopefully it will be an easy install.
