Doesn't work from the outside - the inside latch opens the hatch but I have to climb over the back seat to get to it. Anyone have any tips as to how to remove the interior hatch panel to get at the internals? Can it be done surgically or do I just rip off the panel and replace all the broken clips afterward? It's a 1998 XC70.

 

Imagine, through blind luck got the trim off, fixed the latch, and put it all back together again - nothing broken! Having the latch work from outside the car is going to make life a lot easier!
