2006 XC70 seems to have additional muted knocking sound from front end when cold. It broadcasts exactly like a loose strut top or fastening nut only as I said above it goes away and is not as loud. Maybe cold oil in strut is more viscus and exacerbates a loose strut top???? I'm no expert so would really appreciate someone else offering opinion.
