Hi folks,

We bought a used 2002 XC70 AWD (118K)a couple of months ago. Just recently, it has started to jerkafter alittle lag when we shift it from Park to Drive or from Reverse to Drive. Other than this, the transmission shifts perfectly smooth. Is this because it may need a transmission flush or is it something else like AWD? Again, besides this issue, the car seems to shift nice and without problems and noises (no griding or anything). Any help or leads, as to what may be causing this, will be greatly appreciated.

I would drain and replace the fluid to see if it helps. ALso, see if the car has had all the transmission software updates done.

 

Thanks Psaboic! I will have the transmission fluid drained. How do you check to see if the transmission software updates are current? If I have to take it to the dealer, how much would it cost to have the software updated or is there any other way to do it? Thanks!!

 

The softwae updates can only be done at the dealer. I have heard up to $100 to have it done. If you hre having other service done, some dealers will cut you a break.
