Winter Tires / Wheels
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for winter tires for a 2001 V70 XC, and I found a package of steel wheels and tires from tirerack.com for $556. Is that too good to be true? I've heard that the factory wheels have a really strange offset (is it 49mm?) and I don't see any mention of that with the tirerack.com package. Can I assume that the package they reccommend for my specific car will actually fit? Has anyone else done this?
Thanks in advance for the input. I'd really like to get his taken care of soon, we're slip-sliding all over the place on these derned Florida tires!

My experience is that Tire Rack knows what they are doing and only recommends the right package for your car. That is, as long as you give them all of the information they are asking for. You can always call them as theyare really nice to talk to.
I put Continental Extreme Winter Contacts on my XC70 and Bridgestone Blizzaks DM-V1s on my XC90. Both tires completely transformed their respective car.
You do not need to buy new wheels if you don't want to. I spend $60 car twice a year to switch tires on my factory rims. Works like a champ and I end up with balanced and rotated tires each time.
