Pardon the newbie question but does the XC70 get worse gas mileage that the X70 model?

2003 XC70 with almost 180k miles on it. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I drove it 220 miles each way from Virginia to Pennsylvania and back; all freeway driving. 26.7 MPG!!!!

That's pretty good, can't wait to ditch my Grand Cherokee (about 17 MPG) and get a V70. Still trying to decide what model we want.

My 2008 XC70 yields (up to) 23.5 mpg on the road (mixed freeway and country roads) and 20/21 mpg in town - not bad for a heavy wagon.

I'm in the middle of a 5000+ mile road trip on my 98 V70XC and I've been averaging between 25.5. and 26, and that was between San Diego and Fargo, ND going up I 15 over to I 90, so quite a bit of elevation change and plenty of cold weather. I've got 150K on the car and other than the wife running it out of gas while I was sleeping it's been running great. Plowed right through the 17 inches of snow we got on Christmas.
