New guy here looking for help please. I have a 2010 xc70 diesel D5. Some months ago as I was reversing out of my parking space it cut out and refused to re start. On checking fuel at the injectors it was obvious that there was almost no high pressure fuel at the injectors. Removed the high pressure fuel pump had it overhauled and re-fitted. Now there is high pressure fuel but it still wont run. Changed the fuel controller on the pump, the fuel pressure sensor on the rail and the crank sensor, all items that various forums had said were causes of non starting. However still will not go. Found reference to the tank fuel pump burning out connectors, and as I dont have access to a hoist I cut a hole in the floor below the rear seat to access the pump. The connector was severely burned out, how it had managed to pump fuel I have no idea! Managed to source a second hand one with the same part number, fitted it along with a new wiring harness, but still no start. Borrowed diagnostics and the fuel pressures are all up where they say they should be, around 300 at low pressure and 700 high, and no other permanent fault codes. If I spray easy start down an induction pipe it will start and rev up, however there is no power if you try and drive, it will just cut out and wont restart without a squirt of easy start. I am now at my wits end and if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!
