I own a 2004 T6 and I a reached 60,000 and when I turn on the car, a "Maintenance needed" code pops up and goes away after 2 minutes. i called the dealer and they said that they normally do a 60,000 mile tune up that costs about $600 and then they would reset the code. I read what they do and it seems expensive because they are checking the car for issues, changing oil, plugs etc. is there a way for me to reset the car so the maintenace message goes away? Alos, does anybody know of particuar recalls with the 04 that I should bring into the dealer to get done? lastly, do you recomend using standard oil or synthetic oil for oil chages in this car? Thanks

any decent shop should be able to re-set the code using scanner tool, also I find "dealer maintenace " very overpriced, some of the items could be done by the owner, and my mech routinely checks brakes, houses, etc, possible leaks during oil changes.
