Default 04 XC90 Radio Replacement

Does anyone know of a good place to get a kit to fit a double din aftermarket radio into a 2004 XC90? I found this one site that sells a double din kit for 06 and later. Is the 04 radio the same size as the 06 radio?

i know what your thinking... its 90.00 but it fits perfectly and looks almost stock.

i have a 2004 XC90 and replaced the entire system. just remember to buy a new antenna also.

and i have the wiring diagram for the car to show you each wire you need to chop and use for each door speaker and power wires.

Hi guys, I've got an '05 xc90 and I'm also thinking about going the aftermarket route. I've seen the Connects2 install kit online. So you've had no issues with it? Did you leave the factory display "connected" to avoid code problems?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I believe the Connects2 double DIN kit can fit a 7" screen.

Default good topic...

7" for sure. I have a 04 XC90 that I am about to have the Pioneer Avic-x90bt installed with a double din I bought from Perzan Auto Radio. The double din shipped hella fast and they also have the steering wheel module that works for the XC90. I bought a rearview license plate cam from Amazon and the iphone connector that I will run to the glovebox. I will be bypassing the factory amp, and rewiring the speakers from the Avic. I have an aftermarket antenna that I will piggyback off the fiber antenna that is in the channel under the headliner. I'm pretty excited and xerojedi, I would also like a copy of the diagram also please. I'll get some pics of the install as we go along. -tboned.

Default radio replacement

I just had the radio in my daughter's '04 xc90 replaced. Replaced all the wiring, amp. antenna, etc. They did a great job. We left the factory radio hooked up for the obvious reasons, but they cannot seem to get the heater to work. The A/C works fine, but the back-up sensor and the heater are inoperable. They put in a new climate control module, but that did not seem to correct the problem. Has anyone had this issue? Does anyone know of a fix? Thanks.

No, but I will mention it to the installer. He put everything back in and it still doesn't work correctly. He is taking it to a Volvo mechanic this morning (at his cost) and we'll see what happens from there.....Thanks.

Default wiring harness

Is this wiring harness something I could/should use when replacing OEM audio system for a double din?
Also, if anybody could provide detailed instructions on how proceed with the replacement, what to pay attention to etc, would be appreciated.

Whatever you do with the radio, disconnect the battery before you unplug anything, especially the fiber optic cable, and don't leave any cable disconnected before you re-reconnect the battery. Otherwise, unless you have ViDA with DICE, you will have a few error codes to deal with and going to dealer to clear these codes is not cheap!

Did that steering wheel adapter work? Also what are you guys doing about the backup sensors? If they don't work then I might just get a rear view camera. Thanks for all the info guys! Btw, the cheapest guy I have found so far on ebay is liquidice-2008 for the double din kit. Cheap shipping too. I rather do this myself as it sounds pretty straight forward with the kit as long as I follow the precautions. I've done some installs before with amps and such as well.

Hello all.. I know it has been a few years since there was any activity on this thread, but thought I would take a chance. I just purchased a 2008 XC90 with factory cd, GPS and display, along with headrest monitors.

I want to install a new aftermarket double din HU, and what ever else I need to allow me to Use the steering wheel controls, connect a Ipod for audio and video and control it. I would like to be able to play videos from the ipod and display on the headrest dvd/monitors.

Any one that can help I would really appreciate it.. as far as what HU to buy, what harnesses I will need and what mods i need in order to make it all work with the factory equipment

Thanks

Default 2994 XC 90 amplifier blown?

Just bought it . Radio display looks working no sound . Previous owner said it is "blown" but I don't think he knows anything about his car from talking with him.

not being arrogant just he said his key fob remote was not working either and there was no battery when I opened it up.

Question

If I disconnected electronics and removed seat to troubleshoot amp is there some problem with ecm ie "reteaching" or something. Honestly I have read through these forum threads and it sound like if you look at the electronics is needs some sort of recalibration.

better yet anyone diagnose it through resistance with meter for shorts while seat still in?

cheers!

Peachy

Hi xerojedi wondering if you still have the wiring schematic for the 2004 xc 90?
