Hey guys and gals,
I'm new here, but not new to Volvos. I have been a Volvo tech since 1988 and work in the Tacoma, Wa. area at an independent Volvo shop.

We have a customer her that has a 2006 XC90 with a V8 that has a water pump starting to leak. So far, I have yet to do more than an oil change on this vehicle. Has any one undertaken this project? Seems like the serp. belt, getting it out of the way, will be the hardest part.

Next, on this vehicle, the owner is looking to buy a boat and tow it. He tells me that the rated tow capacity is 4900lbs. I think the boat and trailer combo will be close to the rated limit. Does anyone here have experience towing with these?

Can't help with the WP problem but for the towing she should be fine(very close to limit) as long as the boat/trailer is equipped with brakes.
Max. trailer(with brakes) load with AWD is 5000lbs with 2 occupants in the front seats. 500lbs max tongue load. With 3 occupants those numbers drop to 4500lbs/450lbs. With 4 occupants - 3700lbs/370lbs. 5 = 2900/290. 6=1800/180. 7=Not recommend towing a trailer.
