Hi all.

I'm considering a pre-owned XC90, and I was wondering if someone might be able to mention what exactly the "2.5T" and "T6" terms actually mean...or at least verify my suspicions

Am I correct that the "2.5T" refers to the 2.5 liter engines in the 2.5T models, and that the "T6" refers to the 6 cylinder engine in the T6 models?

Also, my research appears to show that 2.5T models were available in both FWD and AWD in the '03 - '05 model years, however only a FWD version of the 2.5T was available in the '06 model year. I may be mistaken, so can anyone verify this?

2.5T = 2.5 liter Turbo

T6 = Twin Turbo 6 cylinder

 

Your correct. Stay away from the T6. Many engine/transmission problems. The 2.5T is good. The V8 is much better.
