Hey guys, I have a 2003 xc90 with 120,000 mi on it and need to know when the timing belt on these need to be changed. I called the dealership and the guy could not give me a definite mileage. He kept flip flopping between 105,000 and 120,000mi. I don't know if the previous owner changed the belts so I am looking into getting it done.

 

All my paper work that came with my car says 105,000.
Check the sticky out at the beginning of the threads, recommends the change at a lot lower mileage.

 

Yeah... 105,000 may be the factory recommendation, but ask if Volvo will pay to fix your valves when the belt breaks before that! 70,000 miles is a much better change interval, particularly for the 99 and newer engines with variable valve timing
