I have never owned a volvo, but there is a 2004 XC90 near me for $17k. the only problem is that it has 82590 miles. What is a reasonable expectation for an XC90 miles wise?

The XC's probably have not been around long enough to answer that question really good. I would think that with the Volvo cars known for getting 250-400K, that the XC's should be able to do similar. You shouldget more model (engine /transmission) info for better feedback. If the miles appear to be mostly hwy miles and it looks to be in pretty good shape you may be alright. It could have been purchased new in 2003 which would make themiles about averagefor an 04. Also you shouldfactor in how many miles a year you intend to drive it, if your a low milage driver then it could last you a long time........

Also read the new post about timing belts,at this milage try having the dealer thow in a new timing belt job...........
