Default 2004 Volvo XC90 T6 will not start

I had problems with the XC90 several months ago trying to stall while driving. Would lose power, lights, but if I cranked it again it would start and I could keep going. Made it back home but then it would not even attempt to crank. After the online search I decided to have the computer checked by third party in Canada and they said that nothing was wrong that they could find. Several months later I decided to reinstall the computer and now it cranks but will not fire. I have tried starting fluid but no help. Has anyone dealt with similar issue of cranking but not starting? Thanks for any help!

First thing I'd check for is system voltage at the battery and then inspect ground points for corrosion and for cracked connectors. When you removed the ECU did you clean up the contacts?

I actually replaced battery as it was dead dead. I cleaned the contacts with spray electronics cleaner before reinstalling. I also tried disconnecting MAF based on other threads. It seems to be cranking good but does'nt even try to fire. Other than the obvious of maybe all coil packs are bad, is there any one thing that can cause no spark?

All your coils are not bad (but I did see that once on a 960, where the key was left on when removing a head for a valve job and damaged all the coils) -

Have you scanned the car with an appropriate scan tool? What codes are stored?

An engine needs a minimum of three things to start
Compression - I trust the timing belt is still on and cams are correctly aligned - and you have normal compression
Fuel (and injectors spraying at the right time) - have you checked fuel pressure and volume?
Spark (at the right time) - have you checked for spark by pulling a coil and and observing the spark on a plug?

Quality scan tools can monitor live data - as you are spinning the engine over - a tool like that can answer many questions

Default XC 90 Not starting

This is after the fact but did this problem have a resolution. i have the same issues and searched for the PEM on this vehicle for 12 hours. It doesn't have one apparently. Now I don't know what to look for

Thought If this problem was resolved I could piggy back on the answer to solve my issue.

1. year, model, engine
2. Your engine won't start?
3. I trust the starter is spinning the engine over.
4. Do you have compression?
5. What's the fuel pressure?
