2004 XC90 Purchase or not?
Saw an XC90 at an intriguing price for sale, but the T6 tranny problem is scaring me away.
2004 XC90 T6
New tires, brakes, rotors, thermometer, fuel pump and timing belt were all put on between July and September 2012.
New battery and oil change in August 2013.

Asking $5000
Is it worth it to roll the dice with this? I dont mind putting a few grand of work into it if I need to.

2004 Purchase
Just know that the transmission can't be repaired - it can only be rebuilt or replaced and it will cost you a bomb. Mine failed at 140k. That price sounds cheap for what it is...I would think there might be a reason for that. You're right to be afraid of the transmission issue.
