I have an 04 Xc90 with 135k miles on it. Recently on a trip about an hour from home going 70mph and the car jerked suddenly as if I had hit a large animal. It basically shut off for a couple seconds came back on and ran as if nothing had happened no messages on dash. It did this 6 or seven times on a 2.5 hour drive.
Same thing on the return trip but one time it shut down and put me on the side of the road although it did restart and it got me home with a couple more brief episodes of stopping/starting abruptly. Brake and airbag failure messages. The car had a really old battery and was replaced by local mechanic. After putting another 60 miles or so it started cutting off again this time at lower speeds like 45 mph. Mechanic saw obd codes referencing communication errors.
I've read similar experiences on the web but I haven't seen a post with a definite solution. Any Help Here??
