2005 XC90 CD failure
Happy new year. My wonderful yet impatient Dad jammed a CD in his 2005 XC90. A technician took out the deck in an effort to dislodge the jam in his 6 disc CD player.
He did it, but the center hub of the unit was broken. The jammed CD was broken too!
To help my Dad, I found a 'working' 6 disc CD player on EBAY with the exact same model number - from a seller with a 99% Approval rating.
The player was shipped to me.
I took it back to the technician.
He took out the radio again- putting the new one in.
It didn't work.
There was in fact a jammed CD in that one! It didn't work.
So now I feel very invested in labor to explore this issue.
I am truly nervous to buy a used deck with the same number.
Anyone have some helpful advice on how to cost effectively repair this?
Can I take a single dick CD player and put it into my Dad's stereo? Or will that mess things up?
Wish someone might have a working CD player (6 disc) that is compatible with ours. Anyone done with theirs and simply upgrading?
Is using a 16 year old part (especially a CD player) simply asking for trouble?
