2005 XC90 Key won't turn off
2005 XC90 Automatic V8 FWD
Car sat for a year or two, I just got it. I had to press the white button down under the shifter to get it to shift. Now it shifts and drives fine. But when I parked after the test drive the key won't turn off, stops half way between 0 and 1. Car can start back up and shift again and drive no problem, but I had to disconnect the battery and leave the key in it. Any one had this one before? Is it a problem with the shifter/linkage/tumber? Any info is appreciated. |
If the shift knob is not pressed all the way down that can happen. That is the whole knob needs to be pushed down - so whack the top of the knob gently with your hand - and see if that helps (the knob is simply pressed on, and sometimes gets pulled up slightly when people get frustrated when they cant get it out of park.)
