I am seriously considering the purchase of a 2008 XC90, 3.2 with the 6 speed transmission. FWD only. I drove one yesterday that had 37,000 miles on it. The speed of the car was good; however, when accelerating it would shift down a gear. I would expect it to do so if forced to half or full throttle, but just barely depressing the accelerator would cause the down shift. Is this normal for the 3.2 and this geartronic transmission?
Are there any issues with the 3.2 and transmission for 2008?

You can press the "W" button next to your shifter. It makes the car take off in 2nd gear rather than 1st and, I believe, makes for less aggressive shifting with the drawback of the car feeling more lethargic. I only use it in heavy traffic so the transmission does not keep shifting 1st-2nd-stop, 1st-2nd-stop.
