2016 - vehicle will not move after brake pedal released
Hello.
I am having an issue with my 2016 Volvo XC90 - mileage is 40K - that I am hoping someone here is familiar with.
I have looked through the posts here and have not spotted anything like this, but please forgive if I have missed this being addressed elsewhere.
Normally, when the vehicle is in drive or reverse, it will begin to move when I release the brake pedal. Now, in most cases, it only moves when I depress the accelerator. When at home, the driveway it is parked on slants down (15-20 degree angle) from the house, with the front of the vehicle pointed uphill. After starting the vehicle and releasing the parking brake (I can feel the brake pedal slightly rise as normal after releasing the parking brake), I shift into reverse, then release the brake pedal to roll backwards, but the vehicle will not move until i give it a little gas (just a tiny nudge, then it rolls as normal without more gas). This same issue occurs while stopped on level street while driving in traffic - no movement after releasing brake pedal until accelerator is depressed (occasionally this does not occur). The vehicle does not appear to be dragging in any way, and i am not hearing any grinding or squeaking that would lead me to believe that the brakes are engaged somehow. We have gotten quite a bit of rain in the Atlanta area this week, and the temperatures have gotten cooler, but not sure this has anything to do with my issue. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Well, that is embarrassing. Thank you, ES6T - that is exactly what it was. My son drove it last weekend and, apparently, pressed the (A) button. It is something I have never used and never really noticed. I have had this vehicle about six months and still trying to learn all of the features!
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
