2017 XC90 Wiper Blade Issues
Hi,
Ever since we've owned our 2017 XC90 (purchased in July 2017) the driver's side wiper blade leaves a dangerous blur of water on the down stroke. Oddly, on the upstroke the windshield is clear. Every attempt to resolve this has failed. Here is what I have done:
1. Replaced wiper blades with Volvo factory blades (March 2018 @ $31 a pair)
2. Using a Griot's system, I clay barred and machine polished the windshield (special glass polish) to remove all road contaminants. I then applied Griot's Glass Sealant (similar to Rain-X) in May 2020.
3. Replaced wiper blades with Valeo OEM blades (May 2021 @ $32 a pair (factory Volvo blades now up to $52)). Valeo manufactures the factory Volvo wiper blades
After all this, the problem prevails as bad a ever. I've repeatedly cleaned the blades themselves, as well.
Has anyone else had this issue? I know suspect it is faulty manufacturing of the original blades and tempted to get some cheap wiper blades from the local box store!
Thanks
Bob

Turn on wipers and on the down stroke turn off the key with the wipers halfway up - compare the angle the 2 blades are touching - twist the arm to change the angle.
