Grr..
Dont know where to start. We bought the car in July and few days later we realised it has oil smell when you do a bit of journey. Asked the firm we bought the car which they said to take it to a garage they know.

lifted the car onto ramp, they said they cant see anything obvious. So in August we didnt use the car for a bit, then in Sept we started driving and doing long journeys. Immediately theres a smoke again.

So i decided to dig into it. I removed the top plastic cover, wifey on the gas pedal, it started throwing smoke behind the engine

then we took it a mechanic - he pointed out to the turbo. Theres a smoke coming out of side / notch


has anyone had similar issues??

 

are you consuming any oil or coolant? Turbos get very hot on the exhaust side so anything dripping or spraying onto it will vaporize/smoke so best to clean up the area and determine where the leak is. Could be the turbo seals (rare for such a new car), could be an oil return line gasket (they make a mess) or could be any other line from the back of the engine such as the heater hoses.

 

Did you get it fixed? I have the exact same problem on my 2016 D5
