Buying Advice for 2009 to 2013 XC90
I've never sat in a XC90, but I see a few used ones that intrigue me. I hope you can help me answer a few questions as I haven't found enough answers on Google to know if this is a decent vehicle for me:
1) I am 6'2". I have kids who are 5'10". If I set the driver seat to fit myself comfortably, will it be comfortable for my kids in the 2nd row seats? We have no problems fitting in an 2015 Outback/2006 Odyssey/2005 Escape.
2) I need something that can tow. The largest thing I tow is about 3500 lbs (3 ATV's). I've read I shouldn't need a transmission cooler with the XC90; I just need to add hitch, and wiring. Is there anything more to consider?
3) How reliable is the XC90, and are parts/labor expensive for fixing car? I do a lot of my own mechanic work (brakes/bearings/oil & replace hoses/coolers, etc), but I don't do engines/trany/steering/etc. One of the things that got me looking at this vehicle is because a lot of the alternatives aren't very reliable. Some of the alternatives I've been contemplating are Enclave/Acadia/Traverse/Explorer, etc. The more reliable vehicles (Pilot/Highlander) cost more than an XC90 for the listed years in my area. Based on my reading, I feel like the XC90 fits int between for reliability. Curious if anyone thinks different? That is why I'm thinking it is a contender.
4) If/when I test out a 2009 to 2013, are there some things I should be watching for?
Thank you,
Chris
