Default Check Engine Light

I have a 2006 T5 with 40,500 miles on it. I purchased it Certified pre-owned. For the past month and a half, the check engine light has been coming on. I will get an error message stating that the gas cap is loose, which it is not as I have double checked it numerous times and always make sure it clicks. The gas cap message stays on less that a minute. Then usually the next time I start the engine, the check engine light will come on. I have had it into the volvo dealer four times for this and they cannot determine the reason. I brought it in yesterday and got a call telling me that they need to keep it over the weekend and I am stuck driving a S40 with "courtesy car" pasted all over it! The dealer can't figure out the problem and has called the tech hotline a couple of times. So far they have simply reset the light, updated the software, and replaced a sensor. Fortunately, because it is certified pre-owned, it has not cost me anything and the last two times, the dealer has provided me with a courtesy car at no cost. However, I am frustrated having to deal with car issues every week or two. Anyone else have this problem?

It hopefully will get sorted out for you. The XC90 is not a very friendly vehicle when it comes to reliability.
