Cost to repair headlights
I am not sure if I can do it myself but was wondering if I take it to a car electrician what would be an average price to get this fix. My xc90 keeps blowing the lights in the drivers side. It first stated just flickering in the message box and there would be days that it would happens and days that it was fine.
Volvo's are notorious for the connector on the end of the wire harness going bad. That is your most likely culprit. Most shops will charge you an hour labor plus the cost of a new connector so I would guess in most cases <$150. I bought new ceramic connectors (more tolerant of heat) on ebay for ~$10 and did it myself soldering on the new connector and shrink wrapping it.
Solder and heat shrink is the best way to go. Second would be to use a butt connector that's also heat shrink.

My connector in the driver side also went bad. I thought it blew the bulb but after putting the second bulb it did it again, it wasn't the bulb the connector was rusted and half broken creating to much resistance for the bulb to work. I fixed it the cheap way by cutting the old one, pealing the wire a bit and cramping a new connector from one of those assorted box of connectors they sell in auto stores.
I also did the ceramic connector on the passenger side of the XC90, both connectors on the V70 and the driver side on the S60. Cut the old connector off slip some heat shrink down the wire (I prefer the heat shrink with adhesive) and do an overlap solder joint of the new connector wires. Then slip the heat shrink over the solder connection and shrink it down.
