I am leasing 2024 model xc90 ultimate PHEV.

Looking for suggestions on dash cam models suitable for XC90 .any links or references will be hlepful

Can I install it myself ? Or should it be installed by dealer as the car is on lease ?

Any tips and advice are welcome

 

Not sure what type of modding would impact a lease, but here is a link on a DIY setup I use to connect and mount my Escort Max 3 dashcam and Escort M2 Dash Cam - DIY: Hardwire install of radar detector | Page 2 | SwedeSpeed - Volvo Performance Forum. While the link talks about radar, it will give you some idea on where to get power from the mirror, should you choose to go that route. Otherwise, the simplest would be just to route the dash cam wire down the side pillar, down and underneath carpet to the 12v outlet. There are so many dash cam models out there. If I had to do it again, I would definitely keep with a model that has WiFi, high resolution, and like my other dash cam, has an internal facing camera to record passengers as well.

Thanks.. I have to figure out 2024 Xc90 is anything different. I just want an easy install without any headache. Yea, looking for front and rear facing cameras with full HD or 4k with wifi enabled . Reddit gives some good options for dash cam
