Default Died on the way to lake

Hey folks!
Got a problem I'm looking for ideas on! Typing on phone so I'll be a bit brief. 2007 xc90, 3.2L engine, AWD, 169000 miles.

I was about 25 miles into a 35 mile drive when I started having problems. At first it wouldn't shift into 5th or 6th gear in automatic. It showed 'D', but said 'upshift or slow down' along with a check engine light. I put it into tiptronic and it would shift to all gears on command. Check engine cleared.

a mile or two later I lost power without check engine lights. Throttle input did nothing. When I finally stopped it ran really rough, everything blinked, and it stalled out. When I try to turn it back on, it runs rough for a few seconds then dies. All dash lights blink.
Something smelled overheated when I stopped.

I opened the hood and took off the engine cover. There was a mouse nest in the top middle, I cleared out the crap and saw one damaged wire to a coil, with no obvious short circuit exposure. Couldn't find any other damage roadside.

First search it says it might be coil problems. I'm at McDonalds but when I get back to it, I'll look for the white burn marks that might be tell tale. Any other ideas? I'll probably tow it home on front wheel dolly, it should be safe for the distance.

Car was sitting for a week or so before I got the front bearings replaced, drove it at least 100 miles after with no issue.

Thanks all!

Default Update

Found tell tale signs of failure of the ignition coil right behind the oil fill neck (white burn marks on neck and deformed gasket.) Replaced it, but now it will crank but not start at all. Fuel pump fuse okay. None of the relays have obvious problems.
