Default ENGINE OIL

hi
I had a quick question i want to change the oil on my volvo xc90 53k and i think the 5-30 is too thin and maybe going through the turbos causing oil sweating. How much heavier can i go since it is a turbo charged engine and the oil needs to be fairly thin. Also what are the best spark plugs i can put in there i know i cant put the bosh fusion because there is too much spark, should i just buy single prong? And lastly has anyone tried a K and N air filter?

THanks in advance

Default RE: ENGINE OIL

If full synthetic, 5W-30 should be good in cold weather. Other than cold winters you may want to go with full synthetic 10W-30 or 10W-40. Let the engine idle for 1 minute before shutting it down after a freeway driving.

As to spark plugs, Genuine Volvos seem to be trouble free.

Not sure about K&N.

Make sure to follow scheduled maintenance.

Default RE: ENGINE OIL

I agree with JPN on the oil.

NGK is an excellent plug, Bocsh are crap. OEM cannot be bad.

K & N are over rated IMO. Do not get fished in on fuel savings being a plus factor.I have triedit on two other vehicles and was dissapointed. On the other hand if you are wanting performance there may be something there, but not much............
