Default Engine from s60 to go in XC90 - Dual to single VVT

Hey everyone. First Volvo and first post. I bought a 2006 XC90 with a blown head gasket for $600. After pulling the head and inspecting the cylinders I ordered an engine. Being the brainiac that I am I figured all these 2.5t engines are the same so I bought one that was pulled from a S60. I noticed in the pic the intake vvt solenoids was missing and I figured I have one from the old engine. Well I was watching Watchjrgo working on a s-something and it was missing one as well. Oh crap there is only one vvt on these cars. So what are my options? Do I replace the cam and valve cover with the old one or just leave the intake solenoid unhooked or possibly coded out? Thanks!!

The cam cover is machined to the head.

Can you expand on than please? Are you saying that cam covers and heads are not at all interchangeable?

Yes, the cam cover and head are machined together. You should not swap a cam cover from one head to another. You might be able to swap the whole head. Or sell the engine and buy the correct one.
