Hi guys been awhile.
had some brake noise like worn pads, look at the brakes thru the wheel and pads look fine. I went ahead bought new rotors and pads.
So I pull wheel and caliper and this is what I found.

 

I'm not the original owner, owned for about 2yrs now. 05 XC90
Did someone replace calipers with the wrong ones at some point?

 

Think I may have figured it out.
Who ever replaced the pads and rotors last, put the wrong size rotors on.
And being that, since I went and bought new pads and rotors, parts department also gave me the wrong size.
The news ones will also cause the pads to overhang about 1/4 inch off the rotors.
Doing some reading I found out that a few of the 05 XC90 T6 AWD came with either the 316mm rotors or the rare case 336mm which I have. Most common had the 316mm.

 

Do you have 18" wheels?
