We just bought a new 2012 XC90 R Design with the platnium package only to discover that it doesn't come with heated seats unless you get the climate package which doesn't come on very many cars here in Southern CA. Does anyone know if is possible to add heated seats to our new car or is this something that has to be added in the factory. Thanks

 

I had a 96 850 that didn't have the option so i turned around and bought the oem heating pads . This was the easy part , taking the seats out , to a upholstery shop to take them apart and put the heating pads in the seat , worked out because the side panel was worn and it needed replaced , but the fun part was setting the wiring and switches . Some cars come with the connectors on the harness despite not having the option , if this is your case , smooth sailing otherwise you're in for a treat . Other than that just make sure whoever does the upholstery work knows his game . You don't want your 2012 factory seats looking like dealer installed leather after a tear down
