Hi All,

I am looking for a second car for our nanny, she would use the car for school runs and for her personal use during free time. As this is our second car, I don't want to spend a lot both for purchasing and maintenance while making sure it's a safe car as we are living in a city where a 7 seater SUV is the standard on the road.

I found two cars and have trouble deciding between them ,

1. XC90 V8 Sport, seems to have all the usual options (Dynaudio , Navigation, Bliss etc... ) , less then 100k miles , 2010 model, price is less then 5k $'s
2. Q7 4.2 TFSI , Sline, not sure what option it does have but looks pretty much full to neck (4 zone climate control etc..) , price is 8k $'s

We got an other 7 seater so 3 rd row is not my priority, but there will be rare situations where third row will be used. (picking up multiple kids etc..) , my first priority is security and second is low maintenance costs if possible or if there is such a thing. (I got a 2013 GL500 so I got used to seeing 5k maintannce bills)

I love XC90 and V8 Sport is a rare find, especially under 100k miles, on the other hand 2009 Q7 was far ahead of XC90 from technology wise.

Any advice on which I should choose and any info what I should check on the Volvo is appreciated.

Bonus question : XC90 had an alcantra like fabric covering the roof, never seen this on a Volvo, was there such an option at 2010 for V8 models or is it likely an after market. Where we live is pretty hot (Dubai) so I thought they may have replaced the original.
