Default Highway noise. Wheel bearings?

I'm hearing sort of an echoing sound when driving on the highway coming from the rear. My wheels and balanced and have a good alignment so I'm thinking it could be the wheel bearing which many people have problems with. Any idea how to tell if they are damaged and what to look for? Thanks

What year and milage is on your car? Its hard to know when wheel bearings go..they tend to make more and more noise as it wears and gets worse. I have my front wheel bearings go in my Nissan Murano and it sounded like a bowling ball rolling in the end.

I just replaced both rear bearing on my 2005 XC90 with 51000 miles. Read my thread. I had a complete failure within 20 miles of driving. From a minor noise to complete failure. The wheel hub almost separated. On the right side I could feel a tick when turning the hub. The left I don't know because it completely failed.
If you know what side I would remove the wheel and brake pads and turn the wheel hub. Maybe you can feel an uneven spot or noise while turning.
Good luck.

Wow; just read D C's post on his experience. I would have that looked at ASAP. Have a read for yourself.
