Default Internet in the 2018 XC90 issues

First time Volvo owner, 2018 XC90 Inscription T6 with trouble getting internet to work properly.

I've tried enabling Bluetooth as a standalone internet source and it fails intermittently, trying to find a pattern. Today when I remote started (very cold here in Minnesota now) my phone failed to supply internet to the apps, specifically TuneIn. I shut down the car, restarted and it worked great. maybe previous fails were due to this, not sure. Anyone else noting intermittent failure of Bluetooth internet from phone to car, be it with or without use of remote start?

I've tried doing WiFi to the iPhone X hotspot, and while it works OK it automatically disconnects Bluetooth internet supply and worst of all the car will not automatically hook up to my iPhone X so I'd have to go to Communications and select it manually at every start. Is there a way to make this connection automatic?

I've tried having both WiFi/hotspot and Bluetooth active and it intermittently fails to work.

I'm still trying to sort out how the failures are occurring and the best way for an XC90 with iPhone supplying internet connection to be as hassle free and automatic as possible. I'll continue messing around, but has anyone found a satisfactory solution? I won't be using the built-in 6 month complimentary AT&T data. If there's a way to have the car's modem/SIM card use my same unlimited data stream directly from Verizon I'm all ears, but not holding my breath.

Mitch
