Looking to buy XC90 Questions.
So I'm looking at an XC90. I've never owned one before, but I have owned volvos. it's a 2004 with 116K on it. It had the transfer case replaced at 98K.
I'm on the west coast and it spent the first 6 years of its life on the east coast. I'm not used to the amount of corrosion on east coast vehicles. Should I be concerned about the rusted bolt heads or looks of the engine?
I've also never owned a 5 cylinder engine. It sounds like it has an exhaust leak, but the seller said, five cylinder engine just sound that way. Is that true? Do they sound different?
The engine seems to rev high when starting out from a dead stop. The engine revs to 2K RPM's before it starts to move. After it is moving it seems to run and shift fine. Also, when stopped on a slight incline, the car will roll backward before you give it gas. Almost every other automatic I've driven the call will stay there or even creep forward when you take your foot off the brake. Does this sound like normal operation or is the a symptom of a transmission having problems?
Thanks for any input.

I have the 5 cylinder xc90 an 2006 and I can tell you the motor is quiet and hardly reves at all when starting off. I would run away from this one. Sounds like it still has trans. problems.
