Hi all
I have a 07 XC90 that has an oil leak from under neath the oil pan "thingy"
This thingy looks like a sensor with grommet wires running from above. It is black, square for the most part and bolted righ into the oil pan. WHAT IS THIS SENSOR? I took it to dealer, and they claimed to have replaced it but the oil still leaks from that senosr thingy.
Car only has 24000 miles. First time I took it to dlr for repair car had 7000miles. If any one knows the NAME of this thingy I would appreciate it. I want to go to dlr with the proper vocab/jargon. I do not want to use THINGY with them.
Thanks

Whatever they change, has to stop the leaking. Also, could be the the oil filter leaking and make the adjacent sensor looks oily. Oil filter housing design kind of weird, there is a screw at the top end and it prevent the oil filter insert from flushing at the top. When you do the oil change, you can see an indent caused by that screw at top of old oil filter insert
