I just bought a 2013 XC 90, and it is the refresh model. details as follows:

R-Design
Caspian Blue Metallic (custom TDS sales color only)
Platinum package
Climate package
Rain Sensor
DVD map for Europe
Radio set for EU use
Rubber floor mats all around

$41.6 K OTD (+350 Euro when I take delivery)

I take delivery in January in Germany (I'll be living there for the next few years).

Thoughts? (I'm a previous Volvo owner, and love the brand)

No, I mean the 2013. the 2012 ceased production and next week the new refresh model rolls off the assembly line. Once I get it, I'll have pictures, probably the first person to take delivery of the new model.

It is petrol, the 3.2. And I wish it had more power. Any ideas?

Default ?????

So they're not actually going to make a 2012 model in 2012?

Weird.

Of what does the refreshed content consist?

They could have at least given it the new XC70 interior and gotten rid of that dreadful stereo. The ergonomics are awful (and I've lived with it now for 8 years).

The 2012 model stopped production the 2nd week of November (2011) with all of the cars allocated to dealers, customers, etc...

The new content:
Same color roof rails (no contrast, all silver)
Wheels are different
LED strip in the tail lamps (similar to the XC60)
Seats have a new insert, similar to the XC60 seats

I forgot the others, but I'll post as many pics as I can once I take delivery tomorrow.

Actually, the 2012 model I drove was good on ergonomics (but not great). No real complaints (until I get to live with it for a while).

Default **UPDATED** I picked the car up

No boring talk, some quick pics from the dealer. I apologize if they are not clear, but no flash plus bad light. More will follow in the future (on a nice day):

Seats are different

LED tail lamp strip

LED DRL's in the bottom front

The odd texture on the seat is the contrast. It can be had in a different color (grey), but I was told it gets dirty very quickly. So I opted for the same color as the seat (off black).

You can see the wheels are a different style. They compliment the car well (I think).

The gauge lighting is a white color, that fades well with the blue backlighting on the dials.

And the car color is Obsidian Blue Metallic, which is a custom color for us overseas TDS folks. Can't get in US spec form unless you order it through the TDS program.

Cool! Not a fan of the new wheels personally, but like all the other changes a lot. Especially the seats, they look like they will wear better. Thanks and enjoy your new ride.

I love the interior of my XC90. However, the stereo controls were out of date when I bought the car in 2004. 8 years later and they have made no improvements. The stereo controls in the later cars is fantastic.

As I am still getting used to the controls, they seem a bit un-ergonomic. Not really terrible, but not good either. I'll see if it grows on me some more.

But I will say the navi unit controls are very outdated. I bet Volvo puts all their new stuff in the total redesign. Bastards. But I still like the vehicle none the less.
