new member with a XC90 question fuel flap
Hi all,
I have just acquired a Volvo XC90 2007 ....
it is the fuel flap issue again. I have read past posts and it sorts of skirts around the issues but I think mine is a little different and fresh eyes may help.
The flap lock opens as soon as you hit the key fob to open the doors .. that is OK.
The flap will lock after the 10 minutes (as per the book) when you turn the engine off.
What it will not do is shut when you start the engine.. you get a flap that opens on bends as the spring is not man enough to keep it closed.
My fast fix is a magnet that is about the right size (gap wise) so it stays shut.
I doubt it will be a fuse in the rear section as if it was then it would not open or lock (10 minutes)... so is it the lock? I found a picture on this site of the overall item, but not a detailed view.
Question is: does the lock have different feeds to throw the pole (lock bar) or is there a separate section in the lock for the 3 different functions? Noting i have two of them working? or have I overlooked something? Is the lock an issue for failure - mechanical side?
Any suggestions would be helpful before I payout for a new lock.
Thank you
