Can anyone recommend an OBDII code reader for the Volvo, or software for the laptop that reads Volvo engine codes? My current equipment is only for Ford OBDII codes, specifically diesel.

I had the plastic out ready to buy this, but the way I read it, it does not support older than 2001. What year Volvo do you have? and should this work with a 1998 V-70. Thanks, Dave

The PPC Diagnostic System is for my 2006 XC90, it does NOT work with 1998 V70. I also own a 1998 S70 but I don't have a code reader for it.

It looks like a good product from the videos, but it looks like all there software is for American made cars.

 

I used a generic one for low cash off ebay. If you're going to use it often, get a good one.

OBD2 codes are the same for all OBD2 cars. Just about all OBD2 code readers come with a list.
