Radio replacement scam?

We recently had the entire radio unit on our xc90 replaced. When we got it back from the dealer we were surprised to find all of our preset radio stations were set.
Is this possible?
I am thinking they replaced a cheap part and billed me for an entire stereo.
Any techies out there know if its possible to keep the presets??
I know there are radio serial numbers but I doubt we have it from the original unit to compare to what is installed now to see if its the same.
