1- So how has it worked out for getting rid of the error message?
2- Anyone know if the rest of the SRS system continues to work once you bypass the seat circuit?
Thanks

Hey guys, I have an XC90 that I was considering selling until I read this. I need more versatility inside, looking at 2 carseats in the (outboard positions) middle-row, which renders access to the 3rd row pretty much impossible. Having the Center seat in the 2nd row removed would solve this.

Has anyone actually gotten the SRS light turned off with the center seat removed?

try a battery pull if that doesnt work take a trip to the dealer. the airbag will still deploy if its reconnected and there is a crash the message is basically saying you just pull your middle seat it AKA no s--t sherlock

Simple resistor won't do, and battery reset won't clear it, has to be VIDA/DiCE, I know I set mine off by mistake! I dismantled the seat belt assembly in mine and hid the lock mechanism under the carpet, VIDA says all is good and no SRS message on dash.

This is the actuator removed from the belt mechanism. The black electrical tape is there because I broke the connector and had to tape it back together, not pretty but its working.

There is a gap only about 1" wide, just enough to fit this piece and tuck the wires out of sight.

I know it looks dirty, 4 kids, and its nearly impossible to vacuum underneath with the seat in place. I floor mat runner wouldn't hurt though.

Hi from Australia,

Any tips on pulling that center seat apart to get the mechanism out? I have had all the seats and have been looking at it, scratching my head. Did you manage it without damaging the upholstery? I have eventual resale in mind.

I don't suppose a resistor plug was ever found that will fake the ecu into no fault reading?

Cheers

"New to me," 2009 XC90 and I REALLY like the idea of this modification. Would love to make the space more usable for 5 people by opening up the middle row.
What is the verdict? Does the finished product justify the hassle? Would it make sense to order a replacement VIDA/DICE part so I don't have to destroy the one built in?
Finally, what about the finished appearance? How does it look? Classy or trashed?

Default Volvo XC90 2007 2nd row seats removal

Hello everyone 🖐

I hope i can get to know most of you people here and learn-help each other when needed. The reason i made this post ( call me crazy if you will ) is because i want to ask if anyone knows how to remove the 2nd row seats on my EU Volvo XC90 2007 2.5T AWD ( there is no 3rd row seat on my model so they cant be moved back and forward and no pillow for the child to sit higher ) and i can see only the screws on the back but in front i cant manage to find a way to release them. Has anyone managed to remove them or knows anything ? Guidance with pics will be helpull if posssibnle.

Thank you 😉
