Hi, I bought an 2016 XC90 AWD D5 Inscription two weeks ago and it neither occurred to me to check if it has winter tires or not; nor apparently to the salesman to offer them.. now i see it has normal(as in non-winter) tires... now i live in istanbul which started snowing last friday and now has 1meter of snow, and roads are icy/snowy... does XC90 have a mode that will technologically enable it to be used in such a climate, or will it act as a sled on the slightest slope or brake? some people told me if i switch to manual and use 1st and 2nd gears on slopes it will be fine, but I don't want to risk it and damage my brand new SUV...

News: spoke to volvo autoassist service, they said these tyres are 4-season but aren't very suitable for the current road conditions. the tyres also don't have the snow-in-triangle symbol in their sides. looks like we're not leaving the garage until all of it melts away... and here I was, looking to test my new SUV's performance in snow. smh.
