Default Soft Brakes after pad change

I changed all 4 pads on my wife’s 04 XC 90. I had done the fronts before and the pedal pressure was fine. This time, however, the brake pedalis very soft. I have been pumping the heck out of them to try to get the pressure upbut they are still very soft and will travel to the floor if I push hard enough.

I only got a year out of the stock, Padgent (sp?) pads (10k mi)so I tried Mintex padsthis time around in the front. Went with stock, Padgent, pad in the rear.

I am confident I installed them correctly but need to get get the pedal firm again. I could bleed the brakes but will this solve anything? The brake circuit was never opened (line).

Thanks in advance.

Personally i would bleed the brakes, and use the same pads all around to ensure they all contact and operate evenly with the discs.

The pistons didnt get stuck or damaged at alldid they?

Take a look at the brake lines for any leaks maybe if everything else seems fine.
